Description
Description
FTK -125 Field test kit for the analysis of free chlorine, total chlorine, bromine, pH and alkalinity. Colorimetric with visual comparator (chlorine / bromine / pH), drop test (alkalinity).
Scales:
- Chlorine: 0.5, 1, 2, 3, 5 ppm
- Bromine: 1, 2, 4, 6, 10ppm
- pH: 6.8, 7.2, 7.8, 8.2 pH units
Components:
- 30 x DPD 1 Rapid Tablets
- 30 Tablets DPD 3 Rapid
- 1 x Reagent pH-14, 22 ml
- 1 x DA-05 Reagent, 22 mL
- 1 x ALK-07 Reagent, 22ml
- 1 x ALK-08 Reagent, 22 mL
- 1 x ALK-09 Reagent, 22 mL
- 1 x BASIC Comparator
- 1 x 25mL Graduated Plastic Sample Tube
Instructions for use:
Free Chlorine Analysis (CL)
1. Rinse and fill the chlorine bucket up to the mark with the water to be tested.
2. Add 1 DPD 1 tablet. Cap and invert to mix.
3. Compare the color with the standard colors. Record the result as ppm of free chlorine. See dosage table for adjustment.
4. Save the sample for total chlorine analysis.
Total Chlorine Analysis (TC)
1. Add 1 DPD tablet to treated free chlorine test sample 3. Cap and invert to mix.
2. Compare the color. Record the result as ppm of total chlorine.
Combined Chlorine (CC) Analysis
1. Subtract free chlorine from total chlorine to get ppm combined chlorine.
Bromine Analysis
1. Rinse and fill the chlorine bucket up to the mark with the water to be tested.
2. Add 1 DPD1 tablet. Cover and invert to mix.
3. Compare the color with the standard colors. Record the result as ppm of total bromine.
pH analysis
1. Rinse and fill the pH cuvette up to the mark with the water to be tested.
2. Add 5 drops of PH-14. Cover and invert to mix.
3. Compare the color with the standard values. Record the result as pH units. If the color is between two values, the pH is the average of the two.
4. If you need to adjust the pH use the treated sample from step 3.
To lower the pH: add DA-05 drop by drop, mixing after each drop, until the desired pH is reached.
To raise the pH: follow the instructions in the pH dosing table.
Total Alkalinity Analysis
1. Rinse and fill the tube up to the 25 mL mark with the water to be tested.
2. Add 2 drops of ALK-07 (shake to mix) and 5 drops of ALK-08 (shake to mix). The sample will turn green.
3. Add ALK-09 drop by drop, mixing and counting after each drop, until the color changes from green to red.
4. Multiply the number of drops added in step 3 by 10. Express the result as ppm of total alkalinity as calcium carbonate.
