Maintenance tips for stainless steel, for aquatic applications.
* Carry out a strict initial visual inspection, in order to detect the possible appearance of signs of oxidation by external agents that were not initially considered.
* Strict compliance with the periodic manual cleaning of the accessories, starting with a weekly frequency, until the optimum time interval is set, always avoiding the formation of dry residue deposits (salts or other types of solids).
*For manual or shock dosages, do not do it near the stainless steel parts, avoid splashes or concentrations.
*Avoid deposition of substances on metal parts such as: salts, dust, dirt, etc.
*Avoid contact with other metal parts or materials, especially iron, concrete adhesions, etc.
*Carry out the cleaning of the accessories with mains water or in case deposits or rust stains are observed; Clean with 10-15% diluted nitric solution, or non-abrasive metal cleaner, rinse with fresh water and dry completely with a cotton cloth.
*Special attention to the interstitial zones and the effects of the waterline of the accessories.
*If salts are added or an electrolysis system is used, maintain strict control of the amount of salts dissolved in the water and the stability of the equipment.
*Ensure the control of the pH, the disinfectant and the correct use of bactericide.
*Perform daily water recirculation to prevent the formation of deposits in the submerged accessories.
*Ensure correct daily recirculation of air, through dehumidifying equipment to control the formation of condensation in the environment. In facilities where there are podiums or jump levers, special attention must be paid to cleaning the lower part of them, in order to prevent accumulated condensation.
*Prevent at least one annual technical stoppage for preventive or corrective maintenance of accessories and the installation in general.
*Remember as a fundamental premise of conservation for stainless steel, that the smoother and cleaner we keep its surface, the more stable its resistance to oxidation will be.
