It holds items such as leaves, branches, small stones and generally anything larger than 3 mm that can get into the pool suction system. This ensures that these elements reach the inside of the pump and cause damage to the equipment.
It is very important that you regularly clean the prefilter basket, as an accumulation of dirt in it can cause the wall of the basket to break, allowing waste to pass into the pump turbine chamber and causing damage to it.
